Corey Harms, DVM
Veterinarian, Practice Owner
Dr. Harms studied Biochemistry at Cal State San Bernardino, attended UC Davis to obtain his veterinary degree, and then completed an internship at Loomis Basin Equine Medical Group. He has practiced in Nevada County since 2017. He founded Gateway Equine with the vision of an independent practice focused on excellence in lameness and sports medicine, along with providing general medical and surgical care to the area. When not at the office he enjoys spending time with his wife, trying to keep up with his three kids, and seeing if he can catch a fish at the lake.

Ari Merari, DVM
Associate Veterinarian
Dr. Merari received her Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology from Montclair State University then attended University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine. After earning her DVM in 2020, Dr. Merari went on to complete both a Rotating
Internship and Large Animal Emergency and Critical Care Residency at Loomis Basin Equine Medical Center. Upon finishing her residency, Dr. Merari became an Assistant Clinical Professor at Oklahoma State University where she started a large animal after-hours emergency service for the teaching hospital and a new clinical year rotation for 4th year veterinary students. Her professional interests include emergency medicine, neonatology, and ambulatory general practice. In her spare time, Dr. Merari enjoys spending time with her husband Dylan, her two dogs Lupin and Huckleberry, and two cats Luke and Hagrid.
